Add your BMO credit or debit card to Apple Pay and enjoy the security and convenience of paying right from your iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad. Pay in store¹ or make payments within apps quickly and easily with Apple Pay²

Our partnership with Interac allows you to pay in-app with your mobile wallet using your BMO debit card. From your local food delivery service to your favourite retail stores, you can spend up to in-app when you pay with your debit card. Get more info

Start by following the three simple steps below.

Step 1

Add your card

iPhone

Open the Wallet app, tap the + sign in the right corner and follow the onscreen instructions.

Apple Watch

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and select “Wallet & Apple Pay.” Tap “Add Credit or Debit Card” and follow the onscreen instructions.

iPad

Open Settings, select “Wallet & Apple Pay,” and then select “Add Credit or Debit Card” and follow the onscreen instructions.

Step 2

Make a purchase

In store, hold your iPhone near the payment terminal with your finger on Touch ID. When your iPhone vibrates and beeps, your payment is complete. On the Apple Watch, double-click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch up to the payment terminal. Or pay within apps on iPhone or iPad faster by selecting Apple Pay as your payment method and place your finger on Touch ID.

Step 3

Manage your cards

You can manage your credit and debit cards used with Apple Pay on your device, including setting your BMO card as your default card preference. Go to Settings, “Wallet & Apple Pay” and tap “Default Card.” Select your BMO card.

The use of your BMO Mastercard card is governed by your BMO Mastercard Cardholder Agreement. If your card is used without your authorization, you will not be liable if you did not contribute to the unauthorized use; you used reasonable care to safeguard your card and Personal Identification Number (PIN); and you notified us by telephone within twenty-four (24) hours after you learned of the loss, theft or misuse of your card or cheques or after you knew or suspected that someone else knows your PIN. If you don’t meet these criteria, you will be liable for all charges incurred in connection with the unauthorized use.
The use of your BMO Debit Card is governed by the Electronic Banking Services Agreement that is part of the Agreements, Bank Plans and fees for Everyday Banking, available at BMO branches and online at bmo.com/agreements. Under our 100% Electronic Banking Guarantee, you will not be liable for any losses from the unauthorized use of your bank account or Electronic Banking Services due to circumstances beyond your control. For complete details of your reporting obligations and responsibilities, refer to the Electronic Banking Services Agreement.
In-App transactions using your mobile wallet are considered “Card Not Present” transactions, and limits vary. Please check your limit in the “What You Need to Know” form you received with your debit card.
